Transparency i...Because that would be transparency. Transparency is not a goal of the Iowa City Community School District Open Records process, to say it is would be laughable...Chace Ramey and Mr. Murley have learned nothing from their loss on this very topic to Ed Stone, they prefer a game of cat and mouse.

Ramey has twice now offered to explain the process to me, as if I don't know exactly how they work it, in a private meeting...there, that is a perfect example, why on earth should someone have to explain a process to obtain public information in a meeting behind closed doors, oh, but wait, I can personally tell you based on the policy he and Murley wrote behind closed doors to shut me up. Surely you can imagine, after such an inappropriate action as that (when board is supposed to write board policy NOT administration) why meeting with Ramey behind closed doors would just legitimize his hypocrisy. Ramey apparently specializes in closed door meetings to avoid the public eye. The simple answer, it shouldn't take a closed door meeting out of the eye of the public to "explain" an open process, for documents which the public has every right to see according to Iowa Open Record Law...such a thing as an open records policy should be, gasp, public information, publicly displayed and accessible on their web page and detailed clearly in their own policy, um, I rest my case.Julie VanDykenoreply@blogger.com
