There's a long history of abuse being perpetuated against adopted kids in the name of "promoting attachment."FedUpMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00951858601020687242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8285353362748898720.post-60619999983011067482012-07-28T21:47:37.342-05:002012-07-28T21:47:37.342-05:00By the way, one parent defended the principal on t...By the way, one parent defended the principal on the grounds that “she brought a parenting technique to Duffy [Love and Logic] and brought it to the whole community, free of charge. It was a service that she gave to us.”

I couldn’t resist looking up “Love and Logic,” and, lo and behold, it is yet another authoritarian behavior management program dressed up with a smiling face. One example: if child tries to argue with an adult’s decision, the program advises the adult to “just go brain dead” – “don’t try to argue or match wits with the child.” “Simply repeat, as many times as necessary, ‘I love you too much to argue.’ No matter what argument the child uses, the parent responds, ‘I love you too much to argue.’ Parents who learn how to use these techniques completely change, for the better, their relationships with kids and take control of the home in loving ways.”

What a fine service to provide, free of charge. Sounds like the principal is practicing it on the parents, as well.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07559356125770114400noreply@blogger.com
