Scenarios 4A and 7A involve realigning to K-5 elementary with 6-8 middle schools and both add a new "junior high" school (split feeder(s) likely?). Some scenarios still involve building closures. All five have a new 1200 or 1500 seat high school.

Would like to hear more on why some support 6-8 middle school model.Karen Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13075997477474697121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8285353362748898720.post-33957135040748516702013-05-16T13:51:55.196-05:002013-05-16T13:51:55.196-05:00Karen -- That's a great point. I don't even think our junior high has a playground that could function as a place for recess. If sixth grade is moved to the junior high, it's a good bet that sixth-graders would no longer get any recess.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07559356125770114400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8285353362748898720.post-3889670827376392872013-05-16T13:36:04.627-05:002013-05-16T13:36:04.627-05:00Chris--do 6th graders currently get recess? My 7-8 JHS didn't have recess but as 6th grade elementary school students, we were still actively taking advantage of recess time.Karen Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13075997477474697121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8285353362748898720.post-57770488139746143672013-05-15T23:37:03.603-05:002013-05-15T23:37:03.603-05:00Thanks, Karen.
It turns out that Hoover may not...Thanks, Karen.

It turns out that Hoover may not be as much of a lost cause as it seemed. According to this report, the two "overwhelmingly" most popular choices were the two plans under which no elementaries would be closed. Of course, whether public input will make any difference is another question . . .Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07559356125770114400noreply@blogger.com
