A bloggaissance?

I’m not sure I fully thought through the idea of inviting other people to join the Blogathon; I can barely keep up with their posts, let alone mine. Karen W. is sprinting through the blogathon. Nicholas J. got a two-day head start. NorthTOmom (a/k/a @stepfordTO) has a cliffhanger going. And Scott at Billy and Dad’s Music Emporium, having been plied with crêpes Suzette, is serving up the musical accompaniment (with great commentary, too). Not everyone’s all hung up on the post-every-day thing, but just wait until they see how addictive it is . . .

Your right- this blogathon thing is more difficult than I thought, but strangely satisfying. Watching you and Karen hit the ground running with daily posts has made me want to embrace the full challenge. However, I don't know if I am quite ready for that for sake of my grades and my sanity. We'll see how the rest of the month goes...

Nicholas J -- Yeah, I'm feeling the same way, and it's only day three! I'm trying to force myself to become comfortable with shorter posts, because otherwise it will be impossible. My new goal is to come up with a post that is only 141 characters long, but can't be trimmed without loss of meaning -- thus satisfying my first ground rule, that the post has to be longer than a tweet.

In all seriousness, I don't think I would ever have considered the blogathon if I hadn't gone on Twitter. I figure that if I can tweet multiple times in a day, I should be able to write at least a short post every day. I also think that from a reader's perspective, it's just more fun to know that there will be something new there when you check each day, even if it's just a quick thought. So I'm hoping the blogathon will shift my average post style to something in between my old style and a tweet.

That said, I would trade my blogathon posts for Karen W.'s in a heartbeat...

Thanks, Chris!--for the compliment and the Blogathon Challenge. I decided to join in on January 1st--so it's been a bit of a scramble and I'm worried about not having planned ahead. I thought I'd run out of ideas by day 3.

Trying to pace myself now, so today's post isn't anything special, but I'm excited about the one I'm writing for tomorrow. . . .

Karen -- I find that there is never a shortage of material, only a shortage of time. (Hence my chronic slowness in responding to comments.) That's one reason why I'm forcing myself to do this -- to get some of those posts off my "to be written" list. But every time I check one post off, it seems I add three more to the list.

I'm beginning to think that this guy should be my model for brevity.
